SUNDAY - DAY 1 - CHIANG MAI - MAE HONG SON

  • 08:30 - Pick up passengers from various Chiang Mai Hotels and transfer to airport.

  • 10:20 - Depart Chiang Mai by TG-190 (air ticket is not included)

  • 10:55 - Arrive Mae Hong Son and transfer to IMPERIAL TARA MAE HONG SON hotel.

  • 12:00 - Lunch at local restaurant

  • 13:30 - 18:00 - Drive south to "Meo Micro Wave" hilltribe village located on a steep mountainside next to relay station where the village got its name. Return to Mae Hong Son to visit Burmese-style temples Wat Jong Kham and Wat Jong Klang located next to a large pond in southern end of town. Wat Jong Kham was built nearly 200 years ago by Shan people who make up about 50% of Mae Hong Son's population. Wat Jong Klang houses 100-year-old glass paintings and woodcarvings from Burma, depicting various lives of the Buddha.
  • Dinner and accommodations at IMPERIAL TARA MAE HONG SON or similar hotel.

MONDAY - DAY 2 - MAE HONG SON

  • Breakfast

  • 07:00 - 17:00 - Depart for the Cave with numerous unusually colored carp. Continue to Khaya (Karen) hilltribe village of Ban Nai Soi. One-hour elephant ride through jungle to Padong village, home of long-necked Padong tribe (Giraffe Women), with numerous brass rings around their elongated necks-an extraordinary sight. Picnic lunch provided. Drive by truck down to Sop Soi and take longtail speed boats for one-hour trip from the hanging bridge down Pai River to Ban Huay Dua. Arrive at boat landing and transfer to hotel.

  • 19:00 - Dinner at Bai Fern Restaurant.

  • Accommodations at IMPERIAL TARA MAE HONG SON or similar hotel.

TUESDAY -DAY 3 - MAE HONG SON - CHIANG MAI

  • Breakfast

  • 06:00 - Visit morning market. Then drive uphill to Wat Phra Dhat Doi Kong Moo, with its beautiful view over Mae Hong Son.

  • 08:00 - Return to hotel for breakfast.

  • 10.00 - Transfer to Mae Hong Son Airport

  • 11:15 - Depart Mae Hong Son by TG-191 (air ticket is not included).

  • 11:50 - Arrive Chiang Mai with transfers to your Chiang Mai hotel.
