Day 1 - Chiang Mai - Mae Saa Valley - Chiang Dao (Lunch) - Doi Ang Khang

- 08:00 - 08:30 - Pick up car at hotel.
- Leave Chiang Mai along route No.107 to Mae Rim and turn left to Mae Saa Valley. Visit to the orchid farms and Mae Saa Waterfall. Then return to route No.107 and continue to Chiang Dao, a small village about 68 kms north of Chiang Mai. Visit the Chiang Dao Cave & Elephant Camp, the Hilltribe Development and Welfare Centre. Suggested lunch at the Chiang Dao Hill Resort. Drive back to route No.107 and turn left along route No.1178 and route No.1249 to Doi Ang Khang. Accommodation at angkhang nature resort.
Day 2 - Doi Ang Khang - Thatorn - Doi Mae Salong (Lunhc) - Chiang Rai (168 kms.)
- Breakfast
- Go for sightseeings around Doi Ang Khang. Drive back to route No.107 and continue to Thatorn. Side trip to visit Wat Thatoon or go for a boat trip on the Kok River. Drive further uphill to Doi Mae Salong, a Chinese village on 1350m attitude. Short stops can be made to visit the hilltribe villages enroute. Suggested lunch at the Mae Salong Villa in Doi Mae Salong. Continue to Chiang Rai via Mae Chan. Short stop at the Hilltribe Development & Welfare Centre. Day 3 - Day at leisure; or Chiang Rai - Chiang Saen - Golden Triangle (Lunch) - Mae Sai ) - Chiang Rai (130 kms.)

- Drive along route No.110 and No.1016 to Chiang Saen, the former capital of the first Thai Kingdom, situated directly on the Mekong River at the border between Thailand and Laos. Visit to Wat Phra Dhat Jom Kitti, Wat Chedi Luang and the small museum near - by. Continue along the Mekong River to the Golden Triangle where the borders of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos convene. Suggested lunch at the Imperial Golden Triangle Resort. Then drive northwards to Mae Sai, the northern most Thai town and visit the local market. Return to Chiang Rai. Accommodation at the legend chiang rai boutique river resort & spa or similar hotel.
Day 4 - Chiang Rai - Pha Yao (Lunch) - Lampang (240 kms.)

- Drive 98 kms southwards on route No.1 to Phayao. Visit Wat Sri Kom Kam with its fine carved and guilded wood facade, and Kwan (Lake) Phayao where here you can find several restaurants for your lunch. Continue on route No.1 and drive 134 kms to Lampang. Enroute short stops to visit the Elephant Training Camp at Ban Pang La and Tham Pha Thai Forest Park. Accommodation at lampang river lodge or similar hotel.
Day 5 - Lampang - Lampoon (Lunch) - Chiang mai (116 kms.)
- Breakfast.
- Touring of Lampang, visit to Wat Phra Keo Don Tao, a very interesting Myanmar style temple with a small museum. Also visit to Wat Chedi Sao with its many small pagodas. Continue to Ko Kah to visit Wat Phra Dhat Lampang Luang housing the only Emerald Buddha besides the one at Wat Phra Keo in Bangkok. Drive along route No.11 to Lampoon. Visit Wat Phra Dhat Haripoonchai and the museum near - by. Suggested lunch at the Khum Ton Kaew Restaurant, located behind the museum.
