Accounting Assistant, Accounts Payable | Malaysia & Singapore
About the role

As part of the accounting team, the Accounting Assistant is responsible for processing all accounting procedures for accounts payable in accordance with the company’s accounting policies and local accounting laws in Malaysia. This role is based in Kuala Lumpur.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately handle accounts payable transactions;
  • Support the Finance Manager during monthly, quarterly and annual closings in accounts payable and general ledger;
  • Assist the Finance Manager during external audit processes, budgeting and forecast preparations;
  • Identify and allocate all costs incurred for each booking;
  • Liaise with reservation and contracting departments regarding payment and creditors;
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, corporate guidelines and statutory requirements;
  • Update vendor and supplier databases.
Qualifications
  • Certificate of diploma or LCCI is preferred;
  • Excellent command of Malaysian and English language (verbal and written); knowledge of other languages is a plus;
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a related field; experience with full set computerised accounts;
  • Proficient in using a PC and software applications, especially MS Office, email and the Internet, as well as good typing skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work flexible hours during peak seasons;
  • A “Can Do” attitude, positive mindset and creative thinking are essential;
  • Strong sense of responsibility, prioritisation and organisational skills preferred;
  • Working under pressure is expected.
