Asian Market Manager (Indonesia)
Purpose of the role
This role is responsible for managing the Asian Market Department. Responsibilities include implementing all sales activities and maximising business opportunities in your specific area of responsibility including handling bookings and ensuring quality service for clients.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Maintain overall responsibility and supervision of the Asian Market Department (majority from India and Middle East)
- Create new tailor-made products for FIT and GIT, adapting current programs as well as creating quotations and invoices
- Correspond with agents to ensure that any requirements related to guests are met
- Ensure that transfer and tour arrangements are well handled by coordinating with related suppliers, hotel representatives and the operations department
- Manage a small team; monitor performance and encourage open communication for any problems related to the work
- Evaluate staff performance and coach the team on their assignments to encourage staff development
- Lead negotiations with suppliers and hotels
- Conduct inspections for groups arrivals
- Solve problems and minimise the potential for complaints from guests or agents
- Attend trade shows and sales calls in India
Qualifications:
- This position is open for Indonesian nationals or foreigners
- Bachelor’s degree in tourism and/or related field
- Minimum two years of experience in the same field
- Knowledge of the Asian Market (especially Indian and Middle East)
- Product knowledge of Indonesia in general and Bali in particular are an advantage
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Computer literacy
- Good analytical skills and business sense
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
- Leadership skills with pleasant personality and strong initiative
- Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, presentational – with clarity of expression
- Must be well organised, detail-oriented and prioritise workload efficiently
- Good decision making and problem-solving capability
- Understanding of our clients’ objectives and an ability to tailor services accordingly
- Multitasking skills
- Willing to work irregular and long hours when groups are in the destination
