Assistant Manager – Latin Markets | Thailand
About the role

The role of the assistant manager acts as a crucial link that reports to the regional manager and connects with our overseas partners as well as internal colleagues. The successful candidate will supervise the business and operational aspects of the team. You will be joining our young and dynamic colleagues in our Latin markets team.

Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the Regional Manager for Latin Markets
  • Coordinate with the Sourcing Department (including accommodation, non-accommoation, data managers) to address source market needs at a product level, both offline and online (eConnect)
  • Maintain and edit tariffs (offline and online), including specific agent tariffs with ad-hoc planning under the supervision of the Manager
  • Quoting for ad-hoc groups
  • Support and instruct the teams in handling ad-hoc products / tailor-made projects / VIP requests and general daily tasks
  • Assist the Regional Manager in planning and implementing strategies to attract and target new agents
  • Day-to-day communication with overseas agents in order to evaluate their needs, delegate tasks and give clear instructions to the teams
  • Follow up on outstanding financial matters
  • Prepare monthly reports on sales and financial figures to the respective managers
  • Handle complaints from customers/agents and coordinate with the representatives
  • Inspect hotels and suppliers to ensure compliance with Asian Trails standards
  • General inspection of specific destinations according to source market interests
  • Supervise and motivate inbound staff to perform their best
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in tourism
  • Good command of English and Spanish, knowledge of Portuguese is an advantage
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a travel & tourism company working with Latin source markets
  • Specific knowledge of Thailand and/or South-East Asia
  • Good command of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, word, etc)
  • Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work flexible hours during peak season
  • A “Can Do” attitude, positive attitude and creative thinking
  • This position is open to foreigners
