Business Development Manager | Latin and French Markets (Vietnam)
Purpose of the role
The role of the Business Development Manager Latin and French Markets forms an integral part in the development of new collaborative efforts while maintaining internal procedures with our office in Vietnam. The most suitable candidate will actively drive in the acquisition of new and existing business opportunities for Spanish, Portuguese and French customers travelling to Vietnam. Based in Ho Chi Minh City, the ideal candidate will become a part of a great team of travel professionals in Vietnam.
Key Responsibilities | Job Description:
- Responsible for new and existing business development strategies and planning in both the leisure and MICE segment in the Latin and French markets;
- Liaising with customers to understand the requirements and anticipate this in collaboration with all relevant departments;
- Working with different departments in Vietnam and their respective managers with a focus on sales, product development, operations, quality control measures and customer relations;
- Ensuring that all relevant data is uploaded in Asian Trails’ administration systems;
- Responsible for all programs, itineraries, quotations, accounting matters as well as product development for the aforementioned departments;
- Working in alignment with the company’s Standard Operating Procedures and corporate guidelines in the daily operation;
- Regular communication with new and existing accounts in these markets in working towards a mutually-sustainable growth and troubleshooting;
- Ongoing product development, pricing and itinerary developments for new and existing customers, based on trends and demands from these markets;
- Design and host/coordinate on inspection trips for agent familiarization trips leading to new business, and where needed, meeting customers in Vietnam;
- The ambassador of Asian Trails Vietnam during trade shows, industry-related events and sales calls;
- Directly reports to the General Manager.
Qualifications, skills and requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism, university degree preferred;
- Minimum 3 years in a management position in the tourism industry;
- Fluent command of verbal and written English, Spanish / Portuguese and French is essential. Other languages are a plus;
- Working experience in the travel & tourism industry in Vietnam and /or South-East Asia is a priority;
- Proven track record of individual, group and MICE handling capabilities;
- Good command of Microsoft Office applications and computing skills, including the use of DMC-related software;
- Open for some travel within Vietnam and abroad;
- Having capability in developing standards, quality management, coordination and coaching techniques;
- Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work flexible hours during peak season. A “Can Do” attitude and positive thinking, includes creative thinking;
- A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to prioritize and organize are preferred skillsets to fill this role. Working under pressure is to be expected;
- This position is available for foreigners and locals, with a preference towards foreign nationals.
