BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – LEISURE & MICE – Report to GM

Purpose of the role

The role of business development manager is developing and strengthen the market share of Asian Trails Laos

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and building relationships with existing and new customers with the aim to convert them into happy long-term clients
  • Assisting existing clients to ensure absolute customer satisfaction
  • Providing support on product ideas and promotions in close cooperation with the different departments within the organization
  • Coordinating with Product Manager/Inbound Manager to identify new itineraries or products which can be of interest to key markets
  • Cooperating closely with our marketing department at corporate head office in the creation of sales collaterals
  • Set up monthly and yearly working plan on how to achieve new market share for ATL with focus on both leisure and MICE
  • Identifying opportunities in new target markets for Asian Trail’s products and services
  • Analyze selling and price strategy and prepare trainings for inbound staff on related markets
  • Design and participate on the elaboration of inspection trips for agent FAM trips
  • Support costumer relations executive in dealing with clients on spot
  • Analyze market trend & give guideline to Product Manager/Inbound Manager
  • Understand and well utilize the reservation system of ATL

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism or Business Studies, university degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years in a management position in the tourism industry
  • Have strong analytical abilities with a background in sales planning and managing
  • Proven ability to develop marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to customers
  • Fluent command of verbal and written English, other languages are a plus
  • Working experience in the travel & tourism industry in Laos and /or South East Asia is a priority
  • Proven track record of FIT, group and MICE handling capabilities
  • Good command of Microsoft Office applications and computing skills, including the use of DMC related software
  • Open for some travel within Laos and abroad
  • Proven ability to multi-task, able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work flexible hours during peak season. A “Can Do” attitude and positive thinking, includes creative thinking
  • A strong sense of responsibility and accountability
  • This position is available for foreigners and locals
