About the role
This important role within the Operations Department at Asian Trails Indonesia will be responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation for tourists on scheduled routes. You will be the face of our company, ensuring that our passengers have a pleasant and informative experience. Based in Bali, you will be joining a dynamic and passionate team of travel professionals.
Responsibilities
- Drive on scheduled routes;
- Provide commentary on sights and attractions;
- Ensure the safety of all passengers;
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations;
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections;
- Report any vehicle issues promptly;
- Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the vehicle;
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking;
- Handle passenger inquiries and provide information;
- Manage time effectively to adhere to schedules;
- Keep accurate records of trips and maintenance;
- Communicate with tour coordinators and dispatchers;
- Follow company policies and procedures;
- Provide excellent customer service;
- Handle emergencies and unexpected situations calmly;
- Ensure all passengers are accounted for;
- Assist with luggage and personal belongings;
- Promote a positive image of the company;
- Stay updated on local attractions and events;
- Participate in training and development programmes;
- Support the constant improvement and implementation of Asian Trails’ Refillable Water Bottle Initiative.
Qualifications
- Indonesian national;
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Valid commercial driver’s license (A, B1, or B1 Umum);
- Good command of English – both verbal and written is essential (being able to speak, write and understand other languages is seen as an advantage);
- Clean driving record;
- Previous experience as a tour driver;
- Excellent driving skills;
- Good knowledge of local areas and attractions;
- Strong communication skills;
- Friendly and approachable demeanour;
- Ability to engage and entertain passengers;
- Commitment to safety and customer service;
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly;
- Physical ability to assist passengers and handle luggage;
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays;
- Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections;
- Ability to keep accurate records;
- Professional appearance and attitude;
- Punctual and reliable;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- A “Can Do” attitude, positive mindset and creative thinking is an asset.
