Group Marketing Manager
Purpose of the role
The role of the Group Marketing Manager comprises the overall coordination and supervising Asian Trails Group-wide marketing initiatives, both online and offline.
The suitable candidate will actively participate in the market development and existing client management, together with a dynamic team of local travel professionals.
Ideally based in Bangkok, the ideal candidate will join a innovate team of travel professionals in Thailand with a hybrid balance of working from the office and home. Remote options (in Southeast Asia time zone) can be considered, with required travel when necessary for compulsory occasions.
Key Responsibilities/Job Description:
Platforms/Touchpoints
- Responsible for posting, collecting, responding, and measuring the success rates of all existing (and future) online channels of Asian Trails
- Ensure all Asian Trails’ information (digital footprint) is accurate and updated
- Load profile information for trade shows, in coordination with CEO’s personal assistant, market sales teams, and / or Group Content Manager
- Asian Trails’ website maintenance via WordPress. Ensure that all imagery and content on the web is optimized and reflective of the Asian Trails brand
- Maintain and monitor SEO for Asian Trails
Content
- Ensure all offline & online marketing materials produced are of high quality & reflect the brand identity
- Support the maintenance of Asian Trails’ online image library with free-to-use images
- Regularly update existing corporate materials (online & offline presentations, etc.) as required from group office updates & communications; create new materials as required
- Collateral preparations for new brochures, printed material etc., where required, following corporate guidelines
- Maintain collateral inventories for all distributed collateral within the Asian Trails offices and with partners
- Work closely with the Group Content Manager on strategically aligning all corporate communications, and contribute ideas, provide feedback, etc.
- Create new design work for various platforms (such as social media postings) when required
- Project manage creation of new image and video content creation working with internal teams and / or external suppliers
Delivery
- Prepare and implement marketing and advertising campaigns including EDM, social media & SEO in collaboration with the Group Director of Marketing & Group Content Manager
- Responsible for all EDM (newsletter) creation & distribution in collaboration with Group Content Manager, including content & info collection from stakeholders, image sourcing, EDM composition / loading, quality control, distribution to appropriate audience, and reporting
- Manage the preparation of press releases for trade shows, newsflashes, and specific newsletters from countries, in coordination with Group Content Manager
- Support HR by creating / updating Career page on website and work in coordination with Group Content Manager to arrange posting of available jobs via social media channels
- Coordinate with E-Commerce Manager on related digital marketing initiatives
- Support the building of business relationships with Asian Trails’ offices and suppliers
Intelligence
- Assist in strategic planning & execution of new marketing initiatives with the Group Director of Marketing
- Maintain, update and regularly audit the B2B contact database / CRM. This relates to all registrations online, offline and import / export of sales reports, databases, etc
- Extract essential data from sales reports and load them into the mailing list / CRM
- Pro-actively report trends and insights in marketing reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing available sales and marketing data, sharing to key stakeholders within the group
- Follow trends and new developments in digital marketing (platforms / potential social media channels, etc.) to increase social (B2B) awareness & engagement
- Competitor research and analysis on marketing initiatives
- Perform regular internal surveying of marketing actions & materials within Asian Trails to continually adapt & improve to meet the company needs
Other
- Support the Graphic Designer in building and maintenance of a strong, consistent brand identity; support any rebrand / new asset branding required
- Support & help to enforce the use of approved corporate marketing guidelines across the group
- Attending meetings, when required, with key stakeholders about marketing initiatives
- Other assignments as outlined by the Group E-Commerce & Marketing Director
Qualifications / Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing; a university degree preferred
- Minimum 3 years in a position in the tourism industry is a prerequisite
- Fluent command of verbal and written English is essential. Other languages are a plus
- Working experience in the travel & tourism industry in Southeast Asia is a must
- Good command of modern applications, project management tools & programs essential
- Demonstrable experience with Marketing Automation Tools (e.g., Salesforce Pardot, Active Campaign, Hubspot, Mailchimp, etc.)
- Understanding and experience of Semrush & Google Marketing Suite
- Strong understanding of Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress)
- Basic understanding of HTML and CS an advantage
- Experience of (or passion for) graphic design required (e.g., with Canva & MS Paint); knowledge of pro tools a bonus (e.g., Adobe Illustrator & In Design)
