Group Marketing Officer

Purpose of the role

The role of the Group Marketing Officer is the overall coordination and supervising Asian Trails Group-wide marketing initiatives, both online and offline. The suitable candidate will actively participate in the development in the markets, together with a dynamic team of local travel professionals. Based in Bangkok, the ideal, candidate will become a part of a great team of travel professionals in Thailand.

Overall Responsibilities

Online

  • Responsible for posting, collecting, responding, and measuring the success rates of al social media channels of Asian Trails. This is for all existing and new online channels
  • Pro-actively reporting trends and insights from both statistical analyses as well competitor analysis on these channels. Prepare marketing reports by collecting, analysing and summarising available sales and marketing data
  • Organize and file all social media posts, aligned with sending these to all destinations. Ensure that there will be not a single day Asian Trails will not post anything
  • Prepare and implement marketing and advertising campaigns including email, social media, CMS & SEO in collaboration with the Group Director and as outlined with the new marketing plan
  • Loading and updating the rate for OTAs
  • Follow up reopen/stop sales with all Asian Trails offices, on Viator and Bokun
  • Communicating and assisting all units for loading the product on Trip.com
  • Follow trends and new developments from the digital marketing platforms
  • Investigate and try out new social media channels as the lowest cost possible
  • Increase social B2B awareness with finding new means to increase engagement
  • Ensure that all our information on Google and other search engines is accurate and updated
  • Responsible for all newsletter collateral: Collect, store, prepare, find the right images, quality control checks (pre and post checks) and follow -up with deadlines for newsletter preparing text for newsletters before sending it out to the copywriter.
  • Ensure that our image library is complete and refilled with free-to-use images
  • Prepare press releases for trade shows, newsflashes, and specific newsletters from countries
    Load profile information for trade shows, in coordination with CEO’s personal assistant
  • Asian Trails’ website maintenance on all levels via WordPress CMS. Ensure that all imagery and content on the web is always optimised and reflective of the Asian Trails brand
  • Maintaining and monitoring the SEO for Asian Trails
  • Competitor research and analysis on new marketing initiatives
    Offline
  • Regularly update contact sheets in coordination with all offices
  • Collateral preparations for new brochures, printed material etc. including at least 3 quotations with examples from different suppliers to match the best available rates for the best available quality within the assigned budgets
  • Update and create PowerPoint presentations for the various segments of our business – leisure and corporate
  • Maintaining collateral inventories for all distributed collateral within the Asian Trails offices and partners
  • Competitor research and analysis on new marketing initiatives

CRM

  • Maintain, update and clean our database / CRM. This relates to all registrations online, offline and import / export of sales reports, databases of any kind in a pre-set format
  • Extract essential data from sales reports and load them into the mailing list / CRM
  • Extracting essential sales and marketing data from any report and database for properly administrating this into any CRM set-up

Collateral and communications

  • Prepare new career posts
  • Assist in strategically think new means to put marketing initiatives into practice
  • Building supporting business relationships up with all the Asian Trails’ offices and suppliers.

Corporate identity

  • The implementation and execution of moving towards harmonization of any related matters as outlined in the above-mentioned topics. The outlining and enforcing the use of approved corporate marketing guidelines and deadlines

Various

  • Attending meetings, when required, with the CEO about new and approved marketing initiatives
  • Other assignments as outlined by the Group Director Marketing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing; a university degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years in a position in the tourism industry is a prerequisite.
  • Native speaking/fluent command of verbal and written English is essential. Other languages are a plus.
  • Working experience in the travel & tourism industry in Thailand is a must.
  • Good command of Microsoft Office applications and excellent computing skills.
  • Having capability in developing standards, quality management and coordination.
  • Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work flexible hours during peak season. A “Can Do” attitude and positive thinking, includes creative thinking.
  • A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to prioritize and organize are preferred skill sets to fill this role. Working under pressure is to be expected.
