Operations Officer (Indonesia)
Purpose of the role
This important role within the Operations Department at Asian Trails Indonesia will help to ensure all bookings are correctly entered into our booking management system in a timely and accurate manner. The candidate will also coordinate with the Operations Manager to investigate all complaints regarding guides, transportation companies and suppliers.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Check carefully that all programs planned are confirmed
- Pre-check services to make sure all services are reserved before client’s arrival
- Assign and brief tour guides in coordination with the Operations Manager
- Prepare all programs and documents needed for the guide during the tours
- Communicate with tour guides to follow up the progress of the tours
- Negotiate with suppliers when required, to maintain a good partnership with them and help to solve problems
- Confirm bookings in advance with transportation companies, restaurants and any other suppliers
- Inspect and meet new suppliers when required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in tourism and/or related working experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the tourism industry
- Good command of English, additional European languages are an asset
- Highly organised (accurate and detail oriented)
- Strong communication and negotiating skills
- High degree of customer service and satisfaction orientation
- Pleasant personality and strong initiative
- A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to prioritise and organise our preferred skill sets to fill this role
- Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work flexible hours during peak season
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- A “Can Do” attitude and positive thinking that includes creative thinking is an asset
