Operations Supervisor | Indonesia
About the role

This important role within the Operations Department at Asian Trails Indonesia involves supervising all Operations Officers to ensure that their duties are carried out correctly. The Operations Supervisor ensures that bookings are correctly entered into the booking management system in a timely and accurate manner. In addition, the Operations Supervisor coordinates with the Operations Manager to investigate all complaints regarding guides, transportation companies and suppliers.

  • Overall responsibility and supervision of the Operations Department;
  • Ensure that all planned programmes are confirmed;
  • Double-check services to make sure all services are reserved before the client’s arrival;
  • Follow up on booking confirmations with transportation companies, restaurants and any other suppliers;
  • Ensure that all tour guides have been assigned and briefed in coordination with the Operations Manager;
  • Ensure that sustainability topics are included during all guide training sessions;
  • Communicate with tour guides to follow up on the progress of the tours;
  • Monitor and constantly improve implementation of our Refillable Water Bottle Initiative, including training suppliers to support implementation;
  • Be able to negotiate with suppliers when required, maintain a good partnership with them and help to solve problems;
  • Inspect and meet new suppliers when required.
  • Indonesian national;
  • Bachelor’s degree in tourism and/or related working experience;
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the same field;
  • Fluency (written and spoken) in English, additional European languages are an asset;
  • Must be well organised, detail-oriented and prioritise workload efficiently;
  • Good analytical skills and business sense;
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills;
  • Leadership skills with a pleasant personality and strong initiative;
  • High degree of customer service and satisfaction orientation;
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, presentational – with clarity of expression;
  • Good decision-making and problem-solving capability;
  • Multitasking skills;
  • Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work flexible hours during peak season;
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team;
  • A “Can Do” attitude, positive mindset and creative thinking is an asset.
