Leading library becomes cosy cafe
Baguettes replace books in Laos
One of Vientiane’s most striking colonial heritage buildings, the centrally located National Library of Laos, has been transformed into a cosy vegetarian restaurant. The elegant structure opposite the Nam Phou Fountain offers space for up to 250 guests, both inside and out.
The newly named Living Library Restaurant serves healthy cuisine, using only organic produce sourced from local growers, which helps to distribute income to local farmers and encourage them to cultivate nutritious, organic crops.
