Building a home for the needy in Siem Reap
A majority of Cambodian living in rural areas lack access to safe drinking water, adequate sanitation facilities and a proper roof over their heads. Helping to improve the living conditions of local families in need is Siem Reap-based NGO Volunteer Building Cambodia (VBC).
Asian Trails Cambodia is collaborating with VBC in a 5-day programme with participants helping to build a house for a family in Siem Reap. Participants work with the builder to do general work – measuring, sawing, chiselling, hammering and marking up posts. On the final day volunteers join the family, the new house owner, in a house-blessing ceremony.
