Deep dive into Beijing’s rich religious history

An American academic, a resident in Beijing for about a decade, is your guide in this educational half-day (about three hours) walking tour to delve into the rich religious history of China’s capital Beijing.

The excursion is to Dongcheng district, a centre for Confucianism and Indo-Tibetan Buddhism. Visit Yonghegong (Lama Temple) and the Confucius Temple for an insight into the history of these religious beliefs.

These two historic sites, although the most famous and celebrated in the city, are not on the usual tourist routes. They, however, are important keys to understanding current Chinese mentality and approach to life.
