Malaysia’s ‘Heart-2-Heart with Orangutan’

Asian Trails Malaysia’s ‘Heart 2 Heart with Orangutan’ gives travellers the opportunity to participate in the rehabilitation of this endangered species. The three-day programme is at Matang Wildlife Centre and Semenggoh Wildlife Centre located near Sarawak’s capital Kuching.

This unique initiative allows participants to learn from Sarawak Forestry experts about the challenges of rehabilitating orangutan and gain a deeper understanding of the work involved. They also help with conservation activities at Matang Wildlife Centre including cage cleaning and food preparation.

All funds received are channelled to orangutan conservation, as well as for educational and awareness projects for the local community.
