Luxury cruise operator suspends Myanmar operation

South-East Asia luxury boutique cruise operator Heritage Line has announced it is halting its cruise operations in Myanmar due to the global Coronavirus pandemic.

The privately owned company is the proprietor of the five-star luxury vessel the Anawrahta. It recently entered a three-year partnership with local company, Moken Capital to manage and operate this vessel. Stationed mid-river in downtown Yangon, the rebranded Anawrahta by Moken Capital is focused on cruise and hospitality products for affluent locals, expats and the corporate sector.

Heritage Line plans to resume operations along the Irrawaddy and Chindwin rivers in Myanmar in August 2023.
