Cholon is a quarter in Ho Chi Minh City, and is Vietnam’s largest Chinatown with roots dating back to 1778. It is also a place of great historical and cultural importance.
Asian Trails Vietnam has lined up an exciting half-day exploration of Cholon, which comprises the solving of a mysterious murder case and a city tour cum treasure hunt. As you follow in the footsteps of the murder suspect you are actually enjoying an unusual self-guided tour of this fascinating Chinese quarter. There is also a visit to the apartment of Dr Lam, located in an old-style Vietnamese building that offers foreign visitors a rare glimpse into how the locals live.

For both ladies and gentlemen, we recommend wearing light, comfortable cotton clothing and comfortable shoes. In line with local customs, it may be needed to take off one’s shoes when entering religious buildings and houses; easy slip-on/off shoes are recommendable.
