A Khmer Plateau with history

The plateau of Phnom Sampeau has not only gained name and fame because of its views overlooking the rural region between Battambang and Pailin.
Hundreds of bats call a large cave inside this limestone outcrop home. A steep climb to the top may ask for some strenuous activity, but the view makes it all worthwhile.
For many years, the plateau is a pilgrimage site as a reminder of the horrendous times when the Khmer Rouge ruled the country with an iron fist.
