The ubiquitous presence of Apsaras around Angkor’s fabled temples are certainly an indication that they played a huge part in the lives of the former kings.
A symbol of Hinduism, they are the embodiment of water and clouds with their elaborate costumes as symbols of beauty and grace.
Adorning the base and walls of numerous temple ruins, the spirit of Apsara is still preserved through dance performances in ‘Temple Town’ Siem Reap.
