Le-myet-hna Temple (Mrauk U)

With age comes beauty: an example that perfectly sketches the Mrauk U temple of Le Myet Hna. Set across the vastness of the Rakhine State in western Myanmar, it is one of the oldest temples around.
Tucked away in a corner nearby the Htukkanthein Temple, its 21-metre high mushroom-shaped top can be seen from afar, signalling that we’re about to enter 15th century construction from the late King Min Saw Mon.
If you like Bagan and its omnipresence of temples and pagodas, be sure not to skip Mrauk U on your next adventures to fully grasp the country’s deeply-rooted religious heritage.
