A Buddhist Pilgrimage Site
outside Hanoi

Out of reach for visitors, but worth a photo stop when around. We’re talking about the Thay Pagoda , a holy site built in the 11th century during the reign of King Ly Nhan Tong.
Located 30 kilometres outside of Hanoi at the foot of the Sai Son Mountain, it is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site for the local faithful.
The best time to visit is during the summer months, when the lakeside trees are in bloom, painting the scene bright red.
