Project Content Manager

(2 Year period)

Purpose of the role
    This challenging project role is for those with an aptitude to connect our vision of Asia through descriptions and captivating text in English. The role of the content manager is to harmonize and streamline all our itineraries in a similar tone. As part of the group marketing department, the content manager will also oversee and manage 3rd language translations, as outlined in the foundation of our East and South East Asia operations. Based in Bangkok, the ideal candidate will become a part of a great team of passionate travel colleagues.
Key Responsibilities / Job Description
  • Develop content strategy aligned with long-term marketing targets
  • Collaborate with the head of marketing to plan and develop site content, style and layout in line with deliverables from the various Asian Trails offices
  • Create and publish engaging and original content, capturing the vision, mission and core values of the company in proper UK English
  • Edit, proofread and improve writers' posts aligned with pre-set standards
  • Liaise with other content writers to ensure brand consistency
  • Manage, budget and oversee content delivery from 3rd party / internal translators in languages other than English.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international law (e.g. copyright and data protection)
  • Develop and manage an editorial calendar with all content delivery deadlines
  • Stay up-to-date with developments and generate new ideas to draw audience's attention
  • Manage content distribution to online channels and social media platforms to increase web traffic
  • Other tasks as assigned by the head of marketing of the Asian Trails Group
Qualification / Desired experience
  • Degree in literature / journalism
  • At least 5 years' professional experience in content writing / proof reading / editing in UK English - proof of past work are essential to hand over.
  • Fluent / native speaker in UK English (writing and reading), an additional knowledge of Spanish, Italian, German or French is an asset
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and co-ordination skills
  • Able to structurally manage and maintain deliverables in a structured way.
  • Hands on approach including problem solving skills
  • Flexible and hardworking / team player
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), other publishing software application is required
  • Knowledge of the Travel Business or prior experience with multinational company will be an added advantage.
  • Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work flexible hours during peak season. A "Can Do" attitude and positive thinking, includes creative thinking
