An early morning departure from Phnom Penh lauds in the start of a glamping experience in its finest forms. A comfortable 3-hour drive in southwestern direction brings guests from the Cambodian capital into the protected realm of the Cardamom Mountains, one of the country’s most lush and untouched parts of secluded and protected flora and fauna.

Arriving at one of the country’s most hyped about accommodation can be done via two different ways. Through a carefully planned route, guest literally can fly into this natural sanctuary via two zip lines, ending at the lounge / bar of Shinta Mani Wild, while your luggage follows overland. For those feeling less dare-devil-ish, a short jeep ride crosses the lushness of your home for the coming 3 nights with a different sense of adventure.

Private check-in procedures from the Shinta Mani Wild team is followed by an afternoon completely at leisure. Depending on your guests’ arrival, the surroundings of this Bensley Collection’s interpretation of a sanctuary for the senses demand to be explored, be it within the comfort of your luxury tent or head out and following the tips and recommendations of the team on spot. As if the sounds of silence echo through the Cardamon Mountains ring in a new day, waking up and smelling the coffee at breakfast has never been more tantalizing, knowing that your day in nature has just started. The team behind delivering exceptional quality dishes – from local favourites to those with a more western flavour – to indulge in a carefully-selected range of breakfast delicacies.

All the tents are nested in the jungle along the banks of one of the energetic tributaries of the Sre Ambel River in Southwest Cambodia. Individual tents are designed to project what it may have been like to be on a luxury safari in the jungles of Cambodia or reminisce of a canvased experience that once formed the exclusive domains of the African continent. Shinta Mani Wild will offer adventurous excursions on Bensley-designed boats exploring mysterious waterways or treks with park rangers confiscating traps and checking on wildlife cameras. It is this and much more than just fuels the wanderlust in you.

Your days are passing by in no time. During your stay, whether this is scheduled for today or at one of the other days, you can join the rangers of the Wildlife Alliance. You will accompany them, alongside an English-speaking guide, on their regular patrols in the area, following abandoned poaching routes and logging trails of once was a thriving area for poachers. With strict regulations on keeping the region around the Cardamom and Elephant Mountains, more wildlife now roams these forests and you need to keep your eyes peeled on what may be wandering through the often thick forests. This hike will be an amazing introduction of what these rangers do as you make your way to a ranger station.

There is hardly any better way to start a day fresh, accompanied by your travel partner with a health, well-balanced breakfast. Knowing that beyond the Shinta Mani Wild grounds, an authentic experience of a local degustation awaits, recommend not indulging too much in what the chefs and staff at this exclusive glamping experience have served for your breakfast.

Your final day in your private sanctuary. With still many activities to tackle in exploring what is on the compound or further deepening your knowledge of what the Cardamom Mountains have in store. Breathing in the fresh air of your natural surroundings, enjoy a relaxing morning at the ‘Landing Zone Bar’ and the ‘Waterfall Restaurant’. Meet the camp master chef in his kitchen who will be delighted to share their vast knowledge on the plants, fruits and fungi you can find in the surrounding forest. And get set for an exceptional cooking class.

Guided by the principle that your body is your temple, Shinta Mani Wild’s location blends immaculately with its surroundings, and drawing its guests into a state of pure relaxation: this principle also transcends in its facilities, ranging from an extensive spa menu at the ‘Boulders Spa’ to serene corners for that moment of respite. Matching breakfast with your scheduled departure time from the Shinta Mani Wild back to Phnom Penh, you will be leaving your glamping address with excellent memories.

  • Transportation for tour and transfers by air-conditioned vehicle, unless otherwise stated
