WHY THIS TOUR?

There is hardly any better way to start a day fresh, accompanied by your travel partner with a health, well-balanced breakfast. Knowing that beyond the Alila Villas’ grounds, an authentic experience of a local degustation awaits, recommend not indulging too much in what the chefs and staff at Alila Villas Koh Russey have served for your breakfast.

Guided by the principle that your body is your temple, Alila’s location blends in immaculately with its surroundings and drawing its guests into a state of pure relaxation. This principle also transcends in its facilities, ranging from an extensive spa menu to serene corners for that moment of respite. Yoga and meditation options are selected to represent the Khmer culture, using ancient techniques, guided by the resort’s resident yoga and meditation teacher and flow into a status of finding your perfect balance of what the island’s wellness philosophy is all about.

Enriched from your morning sessions, a delectable moment of a culinary representation of a balanced meal can actually be served picnic style on the beach. With your feet in the sand and the waves, gently making its way to Koh Russey’s sandy shores, let the flavours of local degustation set the tone for a leisurely afternoon while the trees form the essential shading.

Day 3 | 4 Days - Wellness Retreat at Alila Villas Koh Russey

Day 3

Koh Russey – Ream National Park – Kep – Koh Russey                                     [B, D]

location with its impeccable views across the Gulf of Thailand that captures the essence in the early morning. A varied and well-balanced selection of local cuisine and international favourites are at your disposal early in the morning before another day at a discerned paradise, only for the chosen few, takes off.

With mainland only a short speed boat ride away, the day commences early in the morning by heading back to Sihanoukville and explores Cambodia’s southern destinations in a full day exploration. The activities team at Alila Koh Russey has designed a great day for you, filled with local culture, natural splendour and meeting the local people.

We start the morning with a visit to Ream National Park. Almost a stone’s throw away from coastal Sihanoukville, Ream National Park has climbed the ladder as a new and invigorating trekking and hiking destination in Cambodia. When boat trips or lazy days on the beaches have been ticked off, head into the park and try to spot some of the endangered birds that nest along these wooden walkways. To get up and close with the flora and fauna of one of Cambodia’s national parks, taking a boat ride over the small rivers and waterways is a must. In line with the wellness theme, we end our morning at a local temple for a blessing ceremony. The country’s tight connection with Buddhism validates the spiritual wellness we aim to bring across.

Lunch is at leisure. Why not experience a delicious local crab from Kep with the special Kampot pepper sauce?

After lunch, we will return back to the jetty for your boat transfer back to Koh Russey. Food is culture and this saying is something that is engrained in the DNA of every Khmer national. To gain an insight in the ingredients and means of preparation, a half day instruction in the art of Khmer cooking will stimulate all senses. And as one of the underestimated elements of living a healthy lifestyle, nutrition deserves just as much attention as your daily massage or early morning yoga session. The kitchen team at Alila Villas understands the concept all too well, and the integration of a flavourful afternoon above your own stove and surrounded by fresh ingredients marks the end of another meaningful wellness experience.

Still in the mood to ease back into wellness mode? There is no better spot than to join in a sunset yoga and meditation moment on the beach before a nice dinner to reward you for a great day of discovery and inner-experience.
