A Koh Dach Day by
A short ride from Phnom Penh, one finds a spot that only the locals know as their escape to
a world of pure relaxation. Koh Dach is the regional centre of artisans, and we venture
around this island on bikes and tuk-tuks into this oasis of artistry.
WHY THIS TOUR?
Get a taste of rural Cambodia with a visit to Koh Dach on the Mekong’s shores. This sleepy island, known for its perfect representation of a village where the sands of time move at a much slower pace, straddles the Mekong River and is a tranquil respite from buzzing Phnom Penh.
It is home to a weaving community reviving the art of silk weaving and visitors can learn about this ancient skill from feeding up silkworms to spinning and dyeing techniques, or simply spend time exploring quiet local villages where workshops produce pottery and wooden handicrafts. Only a stone’s throw away from Phnom Penh but worlds apart in experiences and Khmer encounters of the traditional kind.
