A Foodie Evening in Bustling Denpasar
A Foodie Evening in
This is more than just a culinary discovery in the Balinese capital. Dining away with the locals
on a 4-hour evening tour with snacks and food tasting at six well-chosen spots immerses
visitors with the local enclave and its thriving culinary lifestyle.
WHY THIS TOUR?
As the majority of revellers of sun, sand, sea and stunning scenery find their ways along the vast coastline and into Ubud, Bali’s capital city has yet been put on the exploration map. Denpasar, the capital of Bali since 1945, feels like a mini-metropolis, is home to some 650,000 people and captures some of the island’s best-kept secrets.
Young and old come here to shop, and most importantly, eat. The place is regularly packed with locals having their dinner or just shopping for their daily needs and is a great place for budding photographers. When it comes to dining galore on an extraordinary local scale, Denpasar lives and breathes traditions, and our evening dining tour brings you along some of the least-known secrets alongside an English-speaking culinary expert.
17:00 - 21:00
This late afternoon / early evening excursion commences with meeting your fellow foodies aboard our vehicle (pick-up conditions apply) as you will move into the city limits of Denpasar. Known for its markets, the capital city of Bali will change your view on local delicacies forever as soon as you venture into alleys and dive deep into the food culture that has often been overlooked by even repeating Bali visitors. Following in the footsteps of your local food expert, the oasis of peace at your resort makes way for the culinary trading grounds for hungry locals.
With six places to get a taste of the flavours of local cuisine, it is the interaction with the locals, the restaurant owners and the family-run businesses that form the backbone of this quite exclusive behind-the-screen look into what’s cooking. As your sample on snacks and popular bites, your English-speaking food ambassador tells you all there is to know about these dishes. From exotic night markets, which are a wonderful place to try some local treats, or simply take in the atmosphere of this very local market, we turn into the deep pockets of the city and they are not just used for tourists!
After 4 hours of eating, enjoying and exploring Denpasar, it is time to meet up with your driver and head back to your hotel at Southern Bali or in Ubud.
