Azure-Blue Exploration off Racha Yai
off Racha Yai
Scuba diving is an exhilarating experience and surrounding Phuket, there are a few dive sites that
make it all worthwhile. Both suitable for beginning and experienced divers, this full day
gives you a short insight in the beauty of the underwater world.
WHY THIS TOUR?
Koh Racha Yai is the largest of the twin islands, forming the Racha Islands. Situated around 12 kilometres south of Phuket’s southernmost point at Rawai, the island boasts fabulous beaches with swaying palm trees. Particularly scuba diving and snorkelling are among the most popular leisure activities off its main bay or the smaller Ao Siam Bay.
While the world above sea level exactly matches the pictures of travel providers, it is what moves, swims and grows below the surface that will be the domain for today’s tour. Guided by experts of the diving spots around Racha Yai, the 2 organized dives during this tour is guaranteed ticking off all the scuba dream boxes.
07:30 - 18:00
With your driver waiting for you at your hotel lobby at around 7:30 am, we head straight to the main boat pier on Phuket where you will board a dedicated dive boat. This vessel will sail south in direction of Koh Racha, one of Phuket’s most famed scuba diving spots. This is a great site if you have not dived for a while and need to get wet.
On the way to Koh Racha Yai, your scuba diving instructor will brief you what you will see and experience: this diving trip is suited for all levels with an easy grade of diving to see a good variety of marine wild life. All equipment will be on board and with patience and lots of fun you will head into the water upon arrival at the dive site.
Koh Racha is one of the stunning tropical islands surrounding Phuket, located south of the Pearl of the Andaman and has gained a reputation of being one of the most suitable dive sites for both beginners and experienced scuba and snorkel enthusiasts. Surrounding the islands, one can truly admire the underwater beauty and with any luck, you will encounter a large variety of sea life. It is not uncommon to see – outside the hard coral around Koh Racha – moray eels, nudibranch, stingrays and the occasional octopus. Fish of course will be there in abundance. Lunch will be included on board the boat.
After making 2 dives with your instructor, you will head back to the Phuket mainland and back to your hotel where you will arrive at around 6 pm.
