TRAIL ITINERARY
07:00 - 13:00
A driver will pick you up from your hotel (selected destinations on Bali only) and brings you to Wapa Di Ume’s restaurant. A sanctuary for the senses that lies in the heart of Ubud, surrounded by rice paddy fields and organic gardens, you are warmly welcomed by the team before the experience starts. Part of a boutique resort, boasting rice paddies as its centrepiece and allowing guests to be at one with nature; Wapa di Ume is a hideaway from the hustle and bustle of Bali just five minutes from downtown Ubud. The hue flowing through Wapa di Ume Ubud Bali is one that combines traditional Balinese design with contemporary interiors throughout its property.
When opting for this morning tour, the first thing we will do is head to the local market where we buy, smell and even may taste some of the freshest vegetables and herbs we intend to use for the class. It is also a great way to see Balinese residents going about in their daily lives. Part of the excitement is putting forward your best bargaining skill to get the best price from the local vendor for your cooking necessities.
Upon returning to Wapa di Ume and their traditional Balinese kitchen set-up, your instructor for this half-day will explain the processes in turning the raw ingredients into something delicious. This step-by-step approach by the culinary creators of Ubud’s Wapa Di Ume is what makes this such an enjoyable and educational half-day – something you will to appreciate at the end of this course.
Once you have completed your cooking, time to taste and judge your creation and those others complete this half-day. You will be brought back to your resort with a cooking certificate and the recipes to bring back home and dazzle your friends and family with what you have learned.
