Balinese Shaman Blessings and Tirta Empul

Balinese Shaman Blessings
and Tirta Empul

When deeply interested in the mysterious spiritual world of Bali and its healing powers for its
residents, a visit to a local Shaman is a must. During this full-day, guests are to be
blessed traditionally at the Tirta Empul, said to be home of curative waters.

WHY THIS TOUR?

The unquestionable belief of Balinese Shamans and their healing powers has played an essential role in the cultural aspect of Bali. This long tradition, called Bali Usada, dates back generations and takes a more prominent role in various communities on Bali compared to normal medicine.

A chosen few on the island remain important leaders in this field, chosen to be a medium between the spiritual world and the world we’re living. The experience on its own has had eye-opening effects on those visiting shamans as they channel information from the ancestral world.

TRAIL ITINERARY

Balinese Shaman Blessings and Tirta Empul

08:30 - 16:30

Our quest in seeking out the healing powers of one of the leading Shaman on the island starts with a short drive from your hotel at selected regions on Bali to a well-known village, known to be a pilgrimage site for shaman healing. This traditional healer has gained name and fame among the Balinese citizens in continuously practising traditional means of healing, including finding cures and reasons for physical and mental illnesses, removing spells and providing information from the ancestors. His wisdom and experience in this field may reveal something interesting you may not know. Due to the nature of his holistic practices, it is only possible to pre-book such sessions.

After this encounter with one of Bali’s most recognized Shaman, we follow local roads through the lush and green countryside to another rural settlement – an authentic representation of how Balinese life used to be for many centuries. The chance to socialize with the local community and learning about their traditions and cultural heritage will be yet another eye-opener. Ample time will be spending before we move on to the Tirta Empul.

The Tirta Empul on the Island of Gods is one of the most important temples, known for its water blessings at the Holy Spring. Visitors will be dressed in sarong and sash (the traditional clothing of Indonesia) before the priest of the temple will ask the gods for permission to enter this religious ceremony. Before entering the pool for the actual blessing ceremony, this event is beyond any doubt one of the most spiritual experiences one can undergo on Bali.

Refreshed, blessed and with a new sense of knowledge, we head back to your hotel either along Bali’s southern coastline or at the artistic centre of the island – Ubud – where you will arrive at around 16:30 hrs.
