Dazzling Ang Thong in a Relaxed Way
Dazzling Ang Thong in
a Relaxed Way
Thailand’s second National Park, Ang Thong, is by many rated as one of the top National Parks.
Forty islands are waiting to be explored, where one truly can enjoy crystal clear waters,
remote beaches or dive deeper into the caves and crevices by kayak.
WHY THIS TOUR?
Like small stepping stones between Koh Samui and Thailand’s mainland, Ang Thong captures the essence of why Thailand stays atop Asia’s wish list for an awe-inspiring stay with a tropical theme. For many years, and under the watchful and protective eye of national authorities and preservation specialists, the efforts made to deliver the same experience of pure marine beauty above and below the Gulf of Thailand’s surface retain Ang Thong’s immense popularity.
Crafted by the forces of nature, the dozens of islands remain uninhabited to allow Mother Nature to go her way. With only a few of these green dots in a sea of azure accessible, the magic continues to appear around every turn, either by kayak or aboard a slow boat.
07:30 - 17:00
Our driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby at around 7.30 am and will drive you and your fellow travellers to the local boat ferry pier at Nathon Pier. Ang Thong National Marine Park, which consists of 42 islands with tranquil blue lagoons, reefs, and deserted sandy beaches. Each island has its unique character. There are fascinating rock formations, beautiful natural caves and even a salt lake or “keyhole” lake surrounded by sheer rock walls. Expect verdant rock masses encircled by various shades of blue and remote islands including Mae Koh which has a beautiful beach and an emerald, saltwater lake called Thale Nai. Lunch is included on-board the boat near Koh Paluay, an island away from any noise and modern development.
With its ocean-based location, this tour is operated by a local boat and, as well as visiting a couple of the islands, there will be ample time for swimming, snorkelling and sightseeing. If you feel the need to take in the breathtaking views around you, this, of course, is possible. At the end of this wonderful day, a visit will be made to Koh Mae Island, where a mysterious-looking emerald green salt-water lake is located. Thailand is known for its extensive natural beauty and this is one of those examples you cannot miss out. Part of the country’s natural heritage, Ang Thong National Marine Park is a treasure to behold, a vast area of blissful exploration for all ages where conservation is key, and responsible exploration takes centre stage.
In the late afternoon, we have to sadly leave this 250-square kilometre National Park behind us, and head back to Samui’s Nathon Pier. Your driver will bring you back in all comfort to your booked resort on this island.
