Customers can choose between a morning session or an afternoon cooking class with transfers included from your central Siem Reap hotel. The Mahob Farm is situated around 3 kilometres outside the town centre. The unique side of this farm is that it is specialized in heirloom varietals: seasonal fruits and vegetables are growing without the use of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers or growth hormones. The farm will be able to adjust its classes depending on what’s in season and therefore guaranteeing fresh produce.
After an introduction from the chef, you will visit the farm’s own vegetable garden, to learn about the local ingredients and fresh produce grown in the area. Your chef of the morning will explain carefully where to look for when picking the elements for a good Khmer dish. Return to the restaurant to begin your cooking adventure, which will become your lunch in the end. Not only the use of spices and herbs are explained, also how to cut and prepare the different ingredients spices and vegetables are part of this course. During these hours, the culinary team will also teach you history of cooking Cambodian dishes and its influence from the neighbouring countries. At the end of the class, the moment of truth arrives when you have to sink your teeth in your own creation and those of your fellow master chefs.
