Like most of the Balinese, fresh food, grilled to perfection and prepared with spices, herbs and following recipes that have withstood the test of time, are the cornerstone of culinary delights. Your guide will not only explain what each dish is, but assures that joining the local community is not only seen as an honour, it also affirms that exquisite experiences do not only happen in Michelin-star rated cuisines. Be prepared to get slightly wobbly with plastic chairs and slightly-bend cutlery, but the fun (and particularly the taste) are amongst the things that will remain forever.
