Luang Prabang After Dark Foodie Tour

for a delicious evening in Luang Prabang with this exploration. Join a local foodie and
turn into alleys and narrow streets to be culinary surprised!
WHY THIS TOUR?
Wedged between the Mekong and the beginning of the Himalayas, Luang Prabang is not only the leading destination for temple galore, natural splendour around every corner and a keen, passionate town where preservation of cultural heritage inside a languid atmosphere are treasured.
With neighbouring countries such as China, Thailand and Vietnam contributing to the Laotian style of eating and drinking, the UNESCO World Heritage Town has set out its own path for culinary delights. Breaking French bread ay a street stall or taking a seat at a local restaurant in Luang Prabang, this evening journey follows in the footsteps of local connoisseurs for an evening of food, food and more food.

TRAIL ITINERARY
18:00 - 21:00
Your guide and passionate foodie will welcome you in the lobby of your booked accommodation in the centre of Luang Prabang at around 6pm. Confirming that your stomach is empty and you’ve built quite an appetite, the first stop of this gastronomical evening of local delicacies brings visitors to something that the Vietnamese have brought over but adopted by the Laotians with a zest for sweetness.
Located right along the Mekong banks, a small street stall serves thinly baked crepes, stuffed with eggs and flavoured to what’s in store. Unbeknownst by many, those knowing this secret location swear by the tastiness of these crepes. From this non-guidebook open-air “creperie”, it is on to the next stop and where else than the Luang Prabang Night Market. Brimming with live, the market is also a haven for local dining establishments with a speciality for sausages, fried mushrooms, coconut dumplings and the almighty papaya salad, Laotian style. A dedicated street fills a hungry void and in the evenings, locals sit shoulder to shoulder while savouring what’s been cooking. During your food tasting, one bottle of water, beer or soft drink is included.
We end the evening with a bit of hands-on cooking; set along the Mekong, a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) barbeque has long been a favourite pastime for Laotians to gather around, share stories, drink a few glasses and BBQ the night away. A Korean concept that truly has transformed into a Laotian concept where vegetables, meat and condiments are put on a hot plate, sizzle until it is ready to be served to yourself, is now shared with non-Laotians with still some room to spare to eat. Complemented by freshly cut fruit and/or desserts, the evening comes to an end at around 9 pm when your guide brings you back to your accommodation in Luang Prabang.
