The Inviting Beauty of Phi Phi Islands
The Inviting Beauty
of Phi Phi Islands
Paradise on Earth is merely a speed boat ride away from Phuket. The limestone cliffs and islands that
form Phi Phi are among the most sought-after destinations for a truly stunning day trip
by speed boat. Bays and beaches that demand to be explored!
WHY THIS TOUR?
Island life in its finest form; Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh, collectively known as Koh Phi Phi, are located 48 km south-east of Phuket and 40 km south-west of Krabi are two very much contradictory destinations, surrounded by azure-blue waters.
Whereas Phi Phi Don is a hedonistic party paradise with a collection of hotels, bars and shops, Phi Phi Leh remains undeveloped with white sandy beaches and soaring limestone cliffs, renowned for its animal life and more specifically its resident swift population. But why Phi Phi scores high on the tropical destination list of Thailand does not need any further elaboration when the sights of its cliffs, its beaches and tropical atmosphere appear.
05:15 - 16:30
Our driver (no guide included) will pick you up from your hotel in the early morning and drive you to the main port on the east coast of Phuket. We leave early in the morning for a full day of pure relaxation among the crystal clear waters and limestone cliffs of Phi Phi Islands.
For those who prefer a speedier trip than those offered by the larger, slower, boat cruises, this excursion takes guests on an island hoping trip that takes in the larger Phi Phi Don and the smaller Phi Phi Ley islands. Phi Phi Ley was the setting for the Hollywood film “The Beach”, which was shot mainly at the picturesque Maya Bay. At Phi Phi Don discover the amazing limestone cliffs, long sandy beaches and the clear emerald water. One advantage of this tour is that it gets to Phi Phi before the morning crowds arrive on the local long-tailed water boat taxis from Ao Nang. A buffet lunch is included on this full day on the picturesque Bamboo Island.
The east and west landmasses of Phi Phi Don are joined by a narrow Isthmus and it is here that much of the tourist development has taken place. Phi Phi Ley, on the other hand, is more renowned for its animal life and more specifically its resident swift bird-population. The nests of the swift are highly sought-after, with people taking all manners of risks to collect them for use in Bird’s Nest Soup. Also, Phi Phi Ley is home to the Viking Cave, a large limestone cavern, where ancient rock paintings can be found. If Phi Phi’s natural beauty is not enough, there is plenty to do on and off the island.
You can relax on one of the picture-postcard beaches, enjoy the crystal clear waters or snorkel on the shallow reefs before we move back to Phuket by speed boat. You will be back at your hotel at around 5 pm.
