You are welcomed in the morning at your resort lobby by your local representative for a relatively short ride to Serangan, an island off the Balinese coast near Mentasari Beach and Benoa Harbour. Connected through a bridge with the mainland, the Turtle Conservation and Education Centre is one of the main attractions. The TCEC is an integrated educational program dedicated to turtle, coral reef and ocean protection and has been founded with the support of the local government to eradicate the illegal turtle trade.
You start with the visit to turtle island to see the Turtle Conservation and Education Centre at Serangan Island, south of Sanur. This institute is doing both things: taking on the important job of educating both the local community and school kids to help end the turtle trade and support conservation (donation for the conservation can be arranged on the spot on own personal account).
Then you will spend about 2 hours joining a Coral Clay Workshop by starting with creating your coral reef out of clay. Then the time for you to follows the challenge with fun interactive games in an Escape Room. Through this game, you will have a better understanding to contribute to marine life.
To complete today’s experience, you are invited to support this Marine conservation by Adopting a Coral. This highly popular programme is a donation initiative for planting coral in Nusa Penida Marine Protected Area nursery and will be monitored by a local environmental awareness community. While you participating in a simulated dry tagging of the coral using a ceramic coral piece in the centre for Marine Conservation.
At the end of spending time on this responsible project, you will head back to your resort along Bali’s southern coastline or near the Ubud rice paddy fields.
