Asian Trails Indonesia would like to take this opportunity to inform all our partners and customers about recent change in visa upon arrival. Recent updates from the Indonesian government have clarified further about the visa on arrival arrangements and new regulations in terms of accredited arrival and departure gateways within the Indonesian territory.
Indonesia has granted free visa on arrival for a maximum period of 30 days as per earlier confirmed releases. These free-of-charge visa entries are only valid for arrival and departure for the following five international airports: Jakarta, Denpasar Bali, Medan, Batam and Surabaya. Two sea ports – Bintan and Batam – also have been included in this list.
To be eligible for a free visa, visitors must enter and exit the country through one of the 5 airport and /or 2 sea ports. Free visa is not valid if exiting or entering from an airport or sea port that is not one of the above. In any other event a visa must be bought for 35USD.
We would like to use the following example to make this clearer: guests arriving in Bali and depart from Lombok. When guests arrive in Bali, they must purchase a Visa on Arrival USD35 for 30 days stay Single Entry. Without this visa, the Immigration in Lombok wouldn’t allow them to leave Lombok on international flight as Lombok does not fall under the list of 5 airports. Guest will have to purchase a domestic flight to one of the mentioned airports as earlier stated and then connect to their international flight. Purchasing visa upon departure is not possible.
If guests arrive and depart from Bali or arrive at Jakarta and leave by boat from Batam, the free –of-charge visa applications are in place
