Catering for special needs in Singapore

A new Asian Trails’ half-day Singapore city tour visits Asia’s first community food court managed exclusively by people with disabilities.

Aptly named Dignity Kitchen, the social enterprise provides both employment and training for those with special needs. It is focused on getting the disadvantaged their rightful place and dignity in the workplace. It was created by social entrepreneur Mr Koh Seng Choon who is on a mission to reduce the high unemployment rate among the disabled. Many graduates have secured F&B positions across the Lion City.

Besides helping to fund life-changing opportunities for the disabled, patrons can feast on classic Singaporean dishes, including Hainan chicken rice and laksa.
