Culinary class below Bali’s highest mountain

A new Asian Trails’ excursion in Indonesia provides support for local people and enables guests to learn Balinese cooking skills in the idyllic rural sanctuary of Sidemen.

Conducted in cooperation with Green Kitchen Organic Farm, a traditional cooking approach is utilised using firewood in an open-air kitchen. The activity takes place in a spectacular location of rustic farms and verdant rice fields in the shadow of Bali’s highest mountain, sacred Mount Agung. Guests first visit a traditional market to source the freshest produce and then select vegetables from an organic garden.

Lunch is served after the cooking class, followed by the opportunity to take a refreshing dip in a local river.
