New road to Mui Ne and Phan Thiet

Travel by road from Ho Chi Minh City to the coastal port of Phan Thiet in south-east Vietnam will be drastically cut from an average five to two hours with the opening of the 99 km-long Dau Giay-Phan Thiet Expressway. The new link will connect with the existing HCMC-Dau Giay Expressway. The Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet and Mai Son-National Highway 45 expressways are also expected to open this weekend, adding another 160 km of highways.

The new routes are part of the long-planned North-South Expressway, which will eventually connect Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and beyond. These huge infrastructure projects will take road links in Vietnam to another level; Mui Ne and Phan Thiet are normally reached by air because of the five hour journey and the new expressways will give a huge boost to resorts in Mui Ne.
