New tourist train elevates Hai Phong journey

Tourism in Northern Vietnam is on a smoother track with the launch of a premium railway experience connecting Hanoi and Hai Phong.

Named the ‘Red Flamboyant’, this new tourist train is a refined way to travel, blending comfort, scenic views and convenient access to Hai Phong’s natural and cultural attractions.

The VIP Indochine-style carriage features 34 premium seats, each equipped with LED screens and a 180-degree swivel function, enabling passengers to enjoy the ride facing forwards in either direction.

Upon arrival in Hai Phong, travellers are welcomed by the city’s historic 123-year-old railway station, an architecturally distinctive remnant of the city’s colonial heritage.

Launched on 10 May 2025 – as part of Hai Phong’s 70th Liberation Day celebrations – the two-and-a-half-hour journey operates four round trips daily on weekdays, increasing to six on weekends and public holidays. For bookings or custom tour planning, contact Asian Trails Vietnam
