New airline to launch year-end 2025
Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) is set to take off in the last quarter of 2025, opening a new chapter in Vietnamese aviation.
The airline received government approval in May 2025 and will offer direct domestic flights between Phu Quoc and Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Danang, as well as international services to China, Japan, South Korea and other destinations across Asia. SPA will deliver a distinctive onboard experience that captures Phu Quoc’s island spirit, with themed cabin interiors, local cuisine and music.
Coinciding with the launch, real estate and hospitality developer Sun Group has announced plans to upgrade Phu Quoc International Airport ahead of the 2027 APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting. The expansion will include a new passenger terminal and a second runway.
These developments are key components of the island’s growing tourism ecosystem, enhancing access to resorts, beaches and attractions. For travel advice and bookings, contact Asian Trails Vietnam
