Business Development Manager | Indonesia
About the role

Responsible for improving the company’s market position in key source markets through targeted B2B sales, marketing and product development initiatives, this role focuses on building strong, lasting relationships with international travel trade partners, identifying new business opportunities, and creating compelling travel products that align with market trends and client needs. The ultimate goal is to drive sustainable revenue growth and enhance the company’s reputation as a trusted inbound DMC.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and build long-term relationships with new and existing B2B clients (travel agents, tour operators, wholesalers, OTAs);
  • Actively support existing clients to ensure satisfaction and continued cooperation;
  • Serve as the main point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring consistent and clear communication;
  • Proactively seek and convert new leads into long-term business relationships;
  • Develop and execute B2B sales strategies aligned with company objectives;
  • Stay up to date with market trends, competitor activity, and client expectations;
  • Identify and develop new itineraries, packages, and experiences tailored to specific key markets;
  • Collaborate with internal operations and reservations teams to ensure product feasibility and quality;
  • Maintain a strong understanding of local products, hotel developments, and destination updates;
  • Work closely with the Marketing team at head office (Bangkok) to develop and update sales materials, brochures, and digital content;
  • Prepare and distribute monthly hotel updates, newsletters, and promotional content;
  • Assist in the creation of customized marketing collateral for clients and markets;
  • Provide input and recommendations on market priorities, pricing, products, and partnership strategies;
  • Monitor performance of key accounts and propose actions to improve sales and retention;
  • Participate in internal planning and product review meetings;
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the company’s CRM system;
  • Analyze sales performance and market data to generate regular reports for management;
  • Ensure all leads, communications, and opportunities are properly tracked.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within a tour operator, DMC, or travel-related business;
  • Proven success in B2B relationship building and account management;
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills;
  • Commercially minded with an analytical, detail-oriented approach;
  • Experience in product development and market adaptation within the travel industry (especially inbound tourism);
  • In-depth knowledge of Indonesia’s destinations, culture, and travel infrastructure preferred;
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional European languages are a strong asset;
  • Comfortable with IT systems, CRM software, and quick to learn new digital tools;
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and deliver results with minimal supervision;
  • Creative thinker with a practical mindset; able to balance innovation with operational feasibility;
  • Open-minded and culturally sensitive, with a flexible approach to local values and working styles;
  • Pleasant, grounded personality with a high level of professionalism;
  • A “Can Do” attitude and positive thinking.
