Asian Market Officer (Indonesia)
Purpose of the role
This important role within the Asian Market Department at Asian Trails Indonesia will handle all aspects of the reservation process, including receiving requests from travel agents abroad (mainly Indian and Middle East), preparing offers, quotations and following up in a timely manner, booking all services, hotels and suppliers, issuing vouchers to hotels and other suppliers as well as preparing invoices and following up with payments. Based in Bali, you will be joining a dynamic and passionate team of travel professionals.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Communicate with the overseas travel agencies and tour operators
- Prepare itineraries and quotations
- Send reservation requests to hotels and land service providers throughout Indonesia
- Follow up on programmes sent
- Ensure that all relevant data is uploaded in Asian Trails’ administration system
- Coordinate with the operations department for booking land services
- Handle reservations between suppliers and hotel representatives
- Follow up payment with customers
- General administration tasks, as outlined by the Asian Market Manager
- Work closely with colleagues from other departments and offices within the Asian Trails Group
- Be responsible for reservation and contracting activities with suppliers and hoteliers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in the hospitality industry
- Minimum two years’ experience in a travel & tourism company
- Good command of English is essential (verbal and written)
- Experience with FIT/individual travel and GIT/series bookings is a prerequisite
- Experience with Destination Management software is an advantage
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) applications and computing skills
- Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work flexible hours during peak season
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- A “Can Do” attitude and positive thinking that includes creative thinking is an asset
