Operations Officer | Indonesia
About the role
This important role within the Operations Department at Asian Trails Indonesia will ensure all bookings are entered into the booking management system in a timely and accurate manner. The successful candidate will also coordinate with the Operations Manager to investigate all complaints regarding guides, transportation companies and suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Carefully check that all planned programmes are confirmed;
- Pre-check all services to make sure they are correctly reserved before the client’s arrival;
- Assign and brief tour guides in coordination with the Operations Manager;
- Prepare all programmes and documents needed for the guide during the tours;
- Communicate with tour guides to follow up on the progress of the tours;
- Negotiate with suppliers when required and maintain good partnerships with them, helping to solve problems when required;
- Confirm bookings with transportation companies, restaurants and any other suppliers in advance;
- Inspect and meet new suppliers when required.
Qualifications
- Indonesian national;
- Bachelor’s degree in tourism and/or related working experience;
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the tourism industry;
- Good command of English, additional European languages are an asset;
- Highly organised (accurate and detail oriented);
- Strong communication and negotiating skills;
- High degree of customer service and satisfaction orientation;
- Pleasant personality and strong initiative;
- A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to prioritise and organise are preferred skill sets to fill this role;
- Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work flexible hours during peak season;
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team;
- A “Can Do” attitude, positive thinking and creative mindset is an asset.
