Product Development Specialist | Thailand
About the role
The main objective of Non-Accom Product Specialist is the maintenance of a specific Product portfolio, this includes both the calculation of costs, negotiation and control of net costs with local suppliers in Thailand. The product specialist must be able to keep his own product portfolio updated and at the same time carry out constant research on the tourism industry services, to be able independently to do benchmarking, create new products and present them to the Product Manager, Team Leader and Sales Departments.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and own a specific product list (activities, transfers, tour packages) including the contracting process with the related local suppliers;
- Implementation, actualization, coding, and maintenance of Asian Trails Tariffs;
- Taking care of tariffs standard cost control and actualization, including product templates;
- Conduct market and competition research (benchmarking) on a regular basis for the development of new products;
- Handle product creation and development tasks in coordination with the Sourcing team;
- Assist the Non-Accom Product Manager in contracting and negotiation with new or existing suppliers;
- Regularly report updates and progress to Non-Accom Manager;
- Ensure the correct implementation of Sustainability guidelines;
- Answer queries from Inbound about sustainable products to help sell them more effectively;
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position in the travel industry;
- Good knowledge of Thailand’s travel products;
- Proficient in Thai and English, both oral and written;
- Good written and verbal communication, presentation, cooperation and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent command with Microsoft Office Package, especially Excel and Word;
- Ability to revise contracts and product cost quotations;
- Ability to work independently as well as part of the team;
- Experience in negotiating agreements and conditions with local suppliers;
- Able to handle multiple projects and effectively manage different timelines.
