Product Development Specialist | Thailand
About the role

The role of the Non-Accommodation Product Specialist at Asian Trails Thailand oversees the maintenance of a specific product portfolio. This includes cost calculation, price negotiations and controlling net costs with local suppliers in Thailand. The Product Specialist is responsible for keeping his/her own product portfolio up to date and carrying out constant research on tourism industry services. The successful candidate will work independently to conduct benchmarking, create new products and present them to the Non-Accommodation Manager and Sales Department.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and own a specific product list (activities, transfers and/or tour packages) and carrying out the contracting process with related local suppliers;
  • Implement, actualise, code and maintain Asian Trails’ tariffs;
  • Take care of standard tariffs cost control and actualisation, including product templates;
  • Conduct regular market and competitor research (benchmarking) for the development of new products;
  • Be responsible for product creation/development in coordination with the Sourcing Team;
  • Assist the Non-Accommodation Product Manager in contracting and negotiating with new or existing suppliers;
  • Regularly report updates and progress to the Non-Accommodation Manager;
  • Ensure the correct implementation of Asian Trails’ sustainability guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position in the travel industry;
  • Good knowledge of Thailand’s travel products;
  • Thai language is essential with proficient level of English, both oral and written;
  • Good written and verbal communication, presentation, cooperation and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word;
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team;
  • Experience in negotiating agreements and conditions with local suppliers;
  • Able to handle multiple projects and effectively manage different timelines;
  • Able to travel locally and work flexible hours;
  • A “Can Do” attitude, positive mindset and creative thinking is an asset.
