Travel Consultant (French Market) | Indonesia
About the role

This important role within the Inbound Department at Asian Trails Indonesia will be responsible for managing the complete reservation process for mainly French-speaking clients, starting from receiving requests from travel agents abroad, preparing offers and quotations, timely follow-up, and booking of all services, hotels, and suppliers throughout Indonesia. The role will also involve coordinating with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient handling of reservations and travel arrangements. The position will also contribute to maintaining strong relationships with overseas partners and suppliers, ensuring high service standards, and supporting the overall performance of the Inbound Department. Based in Bali, you will be joining a dynamic and passionate team of travel professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate with and maintain good relationships with overseas travel agencies and tour operators.
  • Prepare itineraries and quotations.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the range of sustainable products available and encouraging clients to include relevant products in their programmes.
  • Invite agents to participate in our Refillable Water Bottle and Carbon Offsetting initiatives.
  • Send reservation requests to hotels and land service providers throughout Indonesia.
  • Follow up on programmes sent to clients.
  • Ensure that all relevant data is uploaded to the Asian Trails administration system.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Department at our offices to arrange bookings for land services.
  • Handle reservations and coordinate with suppliers and hotel representatives.
  • Follow up on payments with customers.
  • Manage reservation and contracting activities with suppliers and hoteliers.
  • Support colleagues and contributing to the smooth workflow of the Inbound Department.
  • Work closely with colleagues from other departments and offices within the Asian Trails Group.
  • Handle special requests and events, and attend out-of-office meetings with customers when required.
  • Carry out general administrative tasks as assigned by the Inbound Manager.
  • Take responsibility for assigned accounts, programmes, or projects and ensuring they are handled efficiently and completed within deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Open to Indonesian nationals only.
  • Bachelor’s degree in the hospitality industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a travel or tourism company.
  • Good command of English – both verbal and written – is essential. Ability to speak, write, and understand French is an advantage.
  • Experience with FIT/individual travel and GIT/series bookings is a prerequisite.
  • Experience with Destination Management software is an advantage.
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) applications and computing skills.
  • Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and work flexible hours during peak season.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A “Can Do” attitude and positive thinking, including creative thinking, is an asset.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
