Ballooning over Cambodia

Taking to the skies from November 2023 to March 2024, a fleet of hot air balloons powered by Cambodia’s first fully licensed balloon company will transport guests on an exhilarating ride over the picturesque Khmer countryside.

Based in Siem Reap, the gateway to the Angkor temples, the balloons launch in the early mornings from an area south of the provincial city, between the sacred mountain of Phnom Bok and the early 12th century temple of Banteay Samre. The flights pass over scenic landscapes filled with panoramic views of ancient aqueducts, rice paddy fields, toddy palms and grazing water buffalo, depending on the direction of the wind. As the sun rises, stunning shadows are formed across misty fields, bathing the land in an enchanting orange hue.

Passengers are in safe hands with experienced aviators holding UK, EU and US commercial pilot’s licenses. The balloons are also registered under the UK Civil Aviation Authority and fully insured through Lloyds of London.

The flights take around 45 to 60 minutes and are subject to weather conditions. Two balloons will operate during the upcoming season, one for up to six passengers and the other for up to eight passengers. Sunrise and sunset flights will be offered during the peak months of December 2023 and January 2024. Due to limited availability, early bookings are recommended to avoid disappointment.
