Vietnam extends stay for e-visas and visa-free

New visa rules just announced in Vietnam will enable foreigners to enter and exit the country an unlimited number of times within 90 days without having to go through the process of obtaining a new visa. The period of stay for tourist (electronic) e-visas will be extended from 30 to 90 days and multiple entry will be permitted. Currently, the e-visa issued to visitors through the electronic transaction system is only valid for single entry. Citizens of 80 countries will benefit from this improved border access.

In addition, citizens of countries with a visa-free arrangement can stay in the country for up to 45 days without a visa (increased from 15 days). This policy applies to passport holders of Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

These policies will become effective from 15 August 2023.
